JBM Course Information
Point Lonsdale SLSC is proud to offer training of the highest quality in the form of an intensive week-long training course. The annual courses are intended to be an intensive and high pressure program to push you to your limits and train you to become a surf life saver.
The programs are designed to equip participants to a proficient standard in methods and techniques of Surf Lifesaving, including:
✓ Safety and Wellbeing
✓ Surf Awareness and skills
✓ Anatomy and Physiology
✓ Basic First Aid
✓ Basic Resuscitation
✓ Communications
✓ Rescue Techniques
✓ Patrols
You will then be expected to complete a minimum of 2 years of life saving.
SRC COURSE INFORMATION
This season, the initial SRC course will be held over four days over two weekends in December and will include optional training and development days in the two months after.
Our aim is to engage with this cohort over the two-year period they hold their SRC and create a life-long culture where members look to the club as a space for development, opportunity and to foster positive relationships - which is something we don’t believe can be achieved simply over a four-day course.
We do not want anyone to miss out because of financial circumstances. We provide subsidies and apply for community grants. If you would like to be considered for financial assistance, please see our financial assistance policy.
