Point Lonsdale

Adult SRC - Friday (evening) 21st - Sunday 23rd February

IRB Crew/Driver - Friday (evening) 28th - Sunday 30th March & Saturday 5th - Sunday 6th April

To register your interest in a Point Lonsdale SLSC course, please complete the expression of interest (or application) form for the course. You will be notified with more details closer to the course date.

You must be an active member to participate in courses.

 

Adult Bronze Medallion (ABM)

About: Participants will learn CPR, basic first aid and spinal management, as well as rescue techniques using a tube and rescue board.

Prerequisites: 17+

 

Adult Surf Rescue Certificate (ASRC)

About: Participants will learn CPR, basic first aid and spinal management, as well as rescue techniques using a tube and rescue board.

Aimed towards adults attaining their SRC for Nippers in Schools, community surf programs and patrolling.

Prerequisites: 17+

 

Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) and Junior Bronze Medallion (JBM)

About: Participants will learn CPR, basic first aid and spinal management, as well as rescue techniques using a tube and rescue board.

Prerequisites: SRC 13+ / JBM 15+

 

Advanced Resuscitation Techniques and First Aid (ART/FA)

About ART: Participants will learn about providing advanced life support to a patient, including CPR and oxygen therapy.

About FA: Participants will learn invaluable skills for recognising and responding appropriately to first aid emergencies, including CPR, severe bleeding and shock, respiratory emergencies, fractures, hypothermia and envenomation. These skills are easy to learn and invaluable to have, whether in the home, at work, in the street, at home with family, on the sporting field or elsewhere.

Prerequisites: 15+

 

Side by Side Vehicle Operator (SSV)

About: Participants will learn how to safely drive Side-By-Side Vehicles (also known as ATVs) for lifesaving purposes, including towing and reversing IRBs.

Prerequisites: 18+, Current Driver’s Licence

 

Resuscitation (CPR)

About: Participants will learn how to deliver CPR.

Note: Candidates no longer gain an accredited CPR award from completing their Bronze Medallion.

Prerequisites: 12+ 

 

Silver Medallion Patrol Captain (SMPC)

About: Participants will learn how to manage a beach in emergency and non-emergency situations. Each patrol is required to have a member with SMPC and this course is recommended for all Patrol Captains.

Prerequisites: Bronze, 17+, another patrolling award (e.g. IRBC, FA) and 2 years of patrolling experience

 

Training Officer Certificate (TOC)

About: Participants will learn how to deliver training programs.

Note: LSV runs course and members must be endorsed by the Training & Assessment Team.

Prerequisites: 17+

 

Inflatable Rescue Boat Crew (IRBC)

About: Participants will learn how to effectively crew an IRB in surf operations, including rescuing patients.

Prerequisites: Bronze, 15+

 

Inflatable Rescue Boat Driver (IRBD)

About: Participants will learn how to drive an IRB in surf operations, including rescuing patients, preparing and managing the IRB, as well as towing the IRB.

Prerequisites: Bronze, IRB Crew, 20 hours of IRBC operation, 17+, Current Victorian Marine Licence
